Bentley University!

We want to thank Bently University for their visit to our campus. Mrs. Rachel Smith-Vaugh spent some time talking to our students about the admissions process in general and answered many questions.
Thank you Mrs. Arellano for the goodies provided for all students!

Here is a wonderful group of soon to be university students.

Welcome back to the 2012-2013 school year!!!

Dear Discovery School Families,
Welcome to the beginning of what promises to be a wonderful school year!  At this time, there is great excitement of what is to come, and I am as excited as the whole Discovery team. Education is a wonderful profession, we get a new start each year, and as a community we learn so much from other teachers, parents and students. I am honored to have the opportunity to return to Discovery as the Guidance and Career counselor for a second year in a row.
I am married and have two children who are students in our school. I have a little over twenty years of experience in education. Having an array of age groups and areas to work with, I can proudly say this is an amazing place to be.
Throughout the year I look forward to meeting the new members of our community and connecting with returning parents. I encourage families to get to know each other so that we can build new friendships and support each other throughout the year.  You will have a great opportunity to meet new people and see old friends at our Open House on August 16th. Plan to be at school from 7:30 to 9:30am, this way you can meet with you son/daughter´s teachers and participate in our After School Activities Fair.
A few things to make our year go more smoothly – first, please make an appointment to see me if you are a new family. I want to have the opportunity support this year of transition for you and your child. Then I want to meet with all seniors with their parents individually before the September holiday. You can call Ms. Carolina Matute or email me at icasco@discoveryschool.edu.hn to arrange the meeting.

Have you looked at our school calendar yet? If you have not, copy and paste the following link on your browser   http://www.discoveryschool.edu.hn/calendar.html

There is much talent in our school community and it needs to be shared. Please feel free to email me if you are willing to volunteer to speak to our students and/or parents on topics such as:
·         growth and development
·         personal hygiene
·         nutrition, exercise, and leading a healthy life style
·         personal and academic goal setting
·         encouragement
The 2012-2013 school year is here! The whole school community has put a lot of time and energy getting ready for the year.  Again I am honored that you entrust us with your precious ones. Have a blessed school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ivonne Casco
